Headspace vials are a kind of laboratory vials for top space analysis, with the features of high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. A headspace vial is used in the process of top – gas chromatography. When detecting volatile or semi-volatile mixtures with high boiling points, we need to heat them to vaporize them at the top. In this process, since the liquid samples are at the bottom, the material in the top gas can be measured without touching the liquid in the sample vial.

Headspace borosilicate glass vials are specialized containers used in the pharmaceutical and scientific industries for the storage and analysis of gases or volatile substances. These vials are made from borosilicate glass, which is known for its exceptional thermal resistance and chemical inertness.
The term “headspace” refers to the space above the liquid or sample inside the vial, which contains the vapor or gas phase of the substance. In applications such as gas chromatography, where the analysis of volatile compounds is required, the headspace technique is commonly employed.

Headspace vials and closures must form a tight seal for accurate analysis with reproducible results. Available in clear or amber Type I borosilicate glass with crimp or screw thread finishes. The vials are used to heat the sample until the concentration of the liquid and gas phases are in equilibrium. A sample is then taken from the gas phase (headspace) for analysis.

The material of Headspace Vials is low extractable Borosilicate glass with low expansion rate, high-temperature resistance, high strength, high hardness, high light transmittance and high chemical stability. Headspace Vials suitable for headspace analysis of volatile solids and gases.

Aijiren’s headspace vials are available in 20ml and 10ml, and the glass color can also be clear or amber. The headspace vial is often used in gas chromatography, where the gas in the reagent is volatilized by heating for detection.

Aijiren Tech headspace vials are manufactured to provide uniform glass thickness which insures even heat distribution for consistent sampling reliability. All Aijiren Tech headspace vials meet or exceed OEM instrument manufacturer’s specifications.Aijiren Tech vials are available in 6ml, 10ml, 20ml versions with Screw type.

The 20ml headspace vial is very popular in gas chromatography because of its large capacity, because it allows the vaporized gas in the sample to float on the upper layer and completely separate from the liquid, which is convenient for the autosampler to extract the gas to be detected. The Screw Cap has a center hole to ensure the convenience of the automatic injection needle in and out.
